4 Paws Rescue Team

WHO WE ARE

The 4 Paws Rescue Team is a dynamic, community based volunteer organization that takes in neglected, abandoned, abused, and unwanted kittens and cats. Since coming into being in 1995, 4 Paws has rescued over 3,000 felines. In 2001 alone, we found homes for over 700 cats.

Cat and Kitten Adoptions

4 Paws is a "no-kill" group. This means that once we rescue an animal he or she will never be euthanized except out of medical necessity. We keep them until they find their perfect homes!

Kittens for Adoption

4 Paws also supports trap, neuter, and release (TNR) programs aimed at managing the populations and improving the health of feral cat colonies. We also work with schools to help teach children the importance of responsible pet care.

4 Paws is a non-profit group; we have no office, and not a single cent is paid out in salaries. Most of our year 2002 budget (approximately $120,000) is earmarked for veterinary expenses and other medical costs.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Volunteer!

4 Paws relies on volunteers to do everything from cleaning out cages to maintaining our Web site. Over 75 people currently make our work possible; won't you consider joining us?

Foster!

Foster families are at the heart of what 4 Paws does. As a foster parent, you take one or more of our cats into your home and heart, caring for them until the right person comes along to furnish a permanent home. 4 Paws will cover any necessary medical expenses; you provide food, shelter, and love.

Make a Donation!

Because 4 Paws is a non-profit organization, your contributions are tax deductible.

• $15 will feed a cat or kitten for a month

• $50 will pay for a neuter

• $80 will pay for a spay

4 Paws also participates in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). If you are a Federal Government employee, please consider allocating part of your contribution to 4 Paws by designating #7540 as your charity of choice.

We are always grateful for in-kind donations of cat carriers, cat and kitten food, old towels, cardboard gift boxes, and postage stamps.

"WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?"

According to the Humane Society of the United States, between 8 and 12 million cats and dogs are taken into animal shelters every year in the U.S; half of them never make it out alive. One animal is euthanized about every six-and-a-half seconds -- nine dying every minute -- 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This does not include the countless number of animals who live short, miserable lives on our streets, abandoned to die cold and hungry, alone and unloved.

4 Paws can't save all of these animals, but with your help we have made a difference for thousands of wonderful cats and kittens -- and for the lucky families whose lives they have enriched. With your continued assistance and support, many thousands more will be saved.

From all of us, on two and four legs -- Thank you!
